Job description

Loureiro Engineering Associates has an immediate need for a Senior Engineer to expand our industrial wastewater treatment design team. Our goal is to employ the right individuals who will learn and work alongside experienced professionals, receiving the training and mentoring necessary for professional growth.

Our industrial wastewater team supports clients throughout the entire lifecycle of a wastewater treatment plant—from conceptual design to construction, startup, and long-term maintenance. You will work on diverse projects, witnessing how our core values—integrity, client satisfaction, quality, work environment, safety and health, and sustainability—are integrated into every project and employee's work.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform engineering calculations supporting the design of industrial wastewater treatment systems.
2. Prepare engineering drawings using electronic drafting software such as AutoCAD and Revit, in collaboration with our CAD designers.
3. Select and specify industrial wastewater treatment equipment, including tanks, pumps, and sensing devices.
4. Conduct engineering field studies and prepare reports for new and existing facilities, including water and wastewater audits and treatability studies.
5. Collect wastewater samples for compliance and system design purposes.
6. Oversee construction and installation of wastewater treatment systems by Loureiro staff and subcontractors.
7. Perform field work related to system commissioning, equipment calibration, and controls upgrades.
8. Collaborate with other divisions such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and energy.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental or chemical engineering with 3-8 years of experience.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is a plus.
• Experience in industrial and manufacturing settings is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged sitting and working on a computer.
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
• Operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
• Push, pull, and handle materials on various surfaces.
• Work in different weather conditions and terrains.
• Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment.
