Job summary

Pickett and Associates, LLC, an ESP Company, seeks a Senior Engineer to provide senior engineering on complex HV and EHV overhead transmission projects. Responsibilities include line routing, PLS-CADD modeling, structure and foundation design, permits, and coordination with stakeholders.

The role requires a PE, a Bachelor's in Engineering, and 8+ years of transmission line experience, with strong knowledge of NESC/IEEE/ASCE/ACI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering (required).
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification (required).
• 8+ years of transmission line engineering experience in the electric utility industry (required).
• Experience in using PLS-CADD for designing transmission lines (required).
• Strong knowledge of design codes/standards: NESC, IEEE, ASCE, ACI.
• Experience liaising with substation/environmental/right-of-way stakeholders.
• Ability to work safely and follow regulations.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

About the Role:

As a Senior Engineer, you will provide senior level engineering/technical expertise on complex electric transmission design projects for high-voltage (HV) and extra high-voltage (EHV) overhead utility systems. Specifically, the position manages, prepares, reviews and/or provides guidance for line routing, survey coordination, PLS-CADD modeling, structure design, foundation design, clearance checks, plan/profile development, material specification and procurement, constructability evaluations, work order package preparation, permitting, vendor/subcontractor coordination and construction support.

What You Bring:

• Ability to be a self-starter and thrive in an unstructured, varied and deadline driven work environment
• Strong ability to collaborate with team members as well as peers in the electrical utility industry
• Effective communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
• Demonstrated verbal and technical writing skills
• Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving (MVR) policy.
