Job summary

Contechs in the United States seeks a Senior Engineer - Interior Trim to lead steering wheel and restraint system design on a contract basis. The role supports from concept through production with collaboration across design, engineering, safety, and suppliers, in Newark, CA or Southfield, MI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with steering wheel/interior/mechatronics in automotive.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with CAD packaging and tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Design release of steering wheels across the product lifetime.
• Collaborate with Design Studio, NVH, UX, Digital, Interior engineering teams.
• Manage Tier 1 suppliers and program timing; point of contact for suppliers.
• Support CAE inputs, crash tests, and vehicle homologation activities.
