Job summary

Holder Construction Group is seeking a Senior Engineer for our Operations team on a Richmond, VA project. This is a full-time, in-person role with growth opportunities and a strong focus on performance and merit.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a construction/engineering field or 3+ years of relevant experience, plus strong communication and organizational skills. Relocation may be considered for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction/engineering field or 3+ years of equivalent work experience is required.
• Outstanding communication and time management skills are required.
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment is required.
• Basic understanding of construction tools like Bluebeam, SketchUp, Navisworks, BIM360 is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate materials from design and fabrication through delivery and final installation.
• Review monthly payment applications from trade contractors.
• Manage cost control and issue resolution, including change orders and RFIs.
• Own overall project execution beyond assigned trade contracts.
• Read, interpret, and apply construction design documents and specifications.
• Mentor junior associates on the project and uphold Holder’s culture.

We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Operations team on our project in Richmond, VA. This is a full-time, in-person position.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage onsite trade activities, including coordination of materials from design and fabrication through delivery and final installation.
• Track, review, and validate monthly payment applications for trade contractors.
• Manage cost control and issue resolution, including change orders, RFIs, and proactive identification of potential risks.
• Assume ownership of overall project execution beyond assigned trade contracts.
• Read, interpret, and apply construction design documents and specifications.
• Lead with integrity and exemplify Holder’s culture by mentoring and developing junior associates on the project.
