Job summary

Aspen Technology, a division of Emerson, is seeking a senior engineer to design and optimize thermodynamic models and property calculations for process industries. You will lead development of thermodynamic/transport property models, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to product suites like Aspen HYSYS and Aspen Plus.

Applicants should have 10+ years in modeling, strong C/C++/FORTRAN skills, and an advanced degree in Chemical Engineering (PhD preferred).

Qualifications

• 10+ years of industrial or academic experience in developing thermodynamic or transport property models.
• Strong coding skills in C++, C, or FORTRAN.
• Master's degree in Chemical Engineering; PhD preferred.
• Experience in process engineering and optimization with AspenTech products.
• Strong math and analytical skills; attention to detail.
• Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and support engineering software solutions for property modeling.
• Research new technologies to integrate into software applications.
• Provide technical leadership for physical property calculations.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and developers to translate customer needs into solutions.
