Job summary

Thompson Engineering is seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineer to provide technical leadership, mentor staff, and support growth of our multidisciplinary practice along the Gulf Coast.

The candidate will show expertise in transportation, site civil, coastal engineering, H&H, water resources, and other civil disciplines, while building client relationships and leading strategic expansion efforts across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in business development and client relationship management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on complex engineering projects.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams from planning through construction.
• Mentor and develop engineering staff across multiple offices.
• Serve as a technical reviewer for reports, plans, and specifications.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities for future work.
• Support business development, proposal preparation, and strategic planning initiatives.
• Coordinate with public agencies, municipalities, and private clients.
• Assist in expanding Thompson Engineering's services and regional presence.
• Ensure projects meet quality, schedule, and budget expectations.
