Job summary

Menlo Security, a browser security platform, is seeking a Senior Engineer II to design, build, and harden Chromium-based browser components in C++ across content, browser, core, and networking layers. You will architect controls to detect Prompt Injection and manage Shadow AI, collaborating with AI teams and security experts.

You will deploy cloud infrastructure on AWS/GCP with Kubernetes and Terraform, optimize high-scale systems, and apply HTTP security knowledge to harden browser isolation

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong C++ systems programming skills.
• Strong networking fundamentals including solid knowledge of HTTP security, web protocols, and client-side security architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Chromium-based browser components in C++ across layers including content, browser, core, compositor, skia, and networking
• Architect and embed controls for detecting Prompt Injection and managing Shadow AI activity within browser execution and agent workflows
• Apply networking fundamentals and HTTP security expertise to harden browser isolation, proxy/gateway intercepts, and network infrastructure
• Build and integrate AI agent capabilities and MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers into the security platform, partnering with MARS and AI teams
• Deploy and operate cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP with Kubernetes and Terraform for agent and threat-detection workloads
• Debug and optimize performance-critical, high-scale systems across the browser and backend infrastructure

This Senior Engineer II role focuses on building and hardening Chromium-based browser components and AI security capabilities, working across browser engine internals, systems architecture, and cloud infrastructure to detect threats like Prompt Injection and Shadow AI usage.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain Chromium-based browser components in C++ across layers including content, browser, core, compositor, skia, and networking
• Architect and embed controls for detecting Prompt Injection and managing Shadow AI activity within browser execution and agent workflows
• Apply networking fundamentals and HTTP security expertise to harden browser isolation, proxy/gateway intercepts, and network infrastructure
• Build and integrate AI agent capabilities and MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers into the security platform, partnering with MARS and AI teams
• Deploy and operate cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP with Kubernetes and Terraform for agent and threat-detection workloads
• Debug and optimize performance-critical, high-scale systems across the browser and backend infrastructure

What You Need

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong C++ systems programming skills
• Strong networking fundamentals including solid knowledge of HTTP security, web protocols, and client-side security architecture
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience

Nice to Have

• Experience across Chromium layers (content, browser, core, compositor, skia, networking) or equivalent large-scale, high-performance C++ systems experience
• Experience or strong interest in AI/LLM security domains including Prompt Injection defense, Shadow AI detection, intent classification, and agentic workflows
• Python or Rust experience
• Experience building or integrating AI agents, Chrome DevTools Protocol (CDP), and MCP servers
• Experience with AWS, GCP, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Linux
