Job summary

ASM in Phoenix is seeking a Total Product Support (TPS) Engineer to act as the system-level expert for new product development. You will collaborate with hardware, electrical, controls, process and software teams to understand customer requirements and ensure design for serviceability.

The role requires a bachelor's in engineering, 5+ years in epitaxy equipment, Japanese language ability and willingness to travel 25–50%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in epitaxy (Epi) process equipment.
• ALD/CVD and Etch exposure is valuable.
• Fluency in Japanese and business-level English.
• Ability to travel internationally 25%–50%.

Responsibilities

• System level expert for product support in new product development.
• Collaborate with hardware, electrical, controls, process and software teams.
• Advise during design phase on customer requirements including serviceability and manufacturability.
• Own first build and testing in development lab, providing real-time feedback.
• Develop service procedures and best practices.
• Manage Alpha/Beta shipments and factory readiness with customers.
• Report field issues and drive issue resolution with cross-functional teams.
• Develop critical spare parts lists and initial stocking levels.

We are looking for a talented Total Product Support (TPS) Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities

• System level expert focused on product support for new product development.
• Interaction with Hardware, Electrical, Controls, Process, and Software engineering teams to become the system level expert on new products being developed.
• Provides guidance to engineering during the design phase of new products on key customer requirements and needs.Including PM service tasks, design for service, design for manufacturability, etc.
• Owns first build and test of the new product in the development lab, working closely with engineering teams providing real time feedback of issues and recommends solutions.
• Develops procedures and documents best known methods for service, preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Owns First in Fab (Alpha or Beta) customer shipments. Drives customer fab readiness (facilities set up), installation and start up through production qualification.
• Detailed Reporting of field issues for new products in the field
• Drives and owns customer issues on new products during the Alpha build and test phase as well as during beta testing at customer sites.
• Develops critical spares parts lists for new products, ensures initial stocking levels are set and ready for new product shipments.
• The primary customers will be Micron Japan, Rapidus,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering discipline
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience preferably in Epitaxy (Epi) process equipment in semiconductor equipment manufacturer.
• ALD/CVD, Etch is also considerable
• Fluency in Japanese and business level communication skills in English.
• Ability to travel internationally. Depending on the product development cycle travel ranges from 25% to 50%
• Basic understanding of semiconductor processing and device fabrication.
