Responsibilities

ST Engineering iDirect Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer I Customer Success (Herndon, VA) to perform all technical duties of Technical Services Engineer. Support Satellite IP network operations for iDirect Velocity customers, including Satellite RF, iDirect Pulse/Velocity and Evolution products components such as NMS, PP, Hub, and Terminals. Design, develop, execute, and document Test Plans and setup procedures for both hardware and software iDirect Velocity products. Execute software regression testing for user acceptance usability. Work with iDirect high data rate satellite modems. Coordinate and participate in formal system level testing activities including test planning, execution, and reporting with iDirect customers. Assist software developer engineers to coordinate and evaluate new or existing software errors and test and verify bug fixes. Provide training and support to operations staff regarding new introduced software features. Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week. Up to 10% domestic travel and up to 10% international travel required.

Qualifications

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Communication, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field of study and two (2) years of Satellite Telecommunication or data-communication experience. Experience must include: technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills with multiple technologies including telecommunication, Satellite, IT, Web, and Web Service; Satellite IP network; RF technology; IP networking, routing, protocols and equipment including TCP/IP, BGP, UDP, Cisco router, switch, TCP Dump, ipconfig, netstat, traceroute, and speedtest; Common database; collaborating and working in cross-functional teams; RF test equipment including Spectrum Analyzer; Satcom Radio Frequency systems; and IP Multicast protocol for Video/Audio transmission over IP. Up to 10% domestic travel and up to 10% international travel required.
