Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. seeks an Embedded Software Engineer to design, test, and validate software for Microchip 8‑bit and 32‑bit MCUs using C/C++. You will drive concepts through implementation readiness and apply secure‑by‑design practices aligned with CRA and industry standards.

You will collaborate with silicon design, firmware, QA and security teams to ensure cohesive architecture, perform risk assessments, and support ASPICE and functional safety requirements such as FuSa.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of embedded systems development experience.
  • Hands-on programming in C/C++ and Python; production-quality or prototype-level code.
  • Strong experience with microcontrollers and application-specific software.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-disciplinary, fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication skills to influence technical direction across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test and validate embedded software for Microchip MCUs using C/C++ and Python.
  • Define and drive early Application Specific Software Product from concept through implementation readiness.
  • Embed secure-by-design methodologies aligned with CRA and industry security standards.
  • Collaborate with QA and FuSa experts to ensure ASPICE and functional safety compliance.
  • Work cross-functionally with silicon design, firmware and security teams for cohesive architecture.
  • Support architectural trade-off analyses covering performance, power, safety and security.
  • Participate in technical reviews, risk assessments and test planning.
  • Contribute to documentation, specifications and design guidelines.
