Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. in Santa Rosa is seeking an entry-level Software Engineer to join our Frequency and Timing Systems (FTS) team.

This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career engineer with 0–2.5 years of experience who wants to develop embedded software for high-precision timing systems. You will collaborate with software and hardware engineers, learn precise timing concepts, and contribute to efficient, reliable modules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 0–2.5 years of relevant software engineering experience, including coursework, internships, projects, or professional experience.
• Successful completion of core electrical engineering and computer science coursework.
• Working knowledge of C and C++ gained through coursework, projects, internships, or related experience.
• Good understanding of data structures and encapsulated software design.
• Understanding of basic data analysis principles.
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Preferred: Understanding of product development process and TCP/IP; ML/AI concepts; Experience using AI tools for software development.
