Genesis Innovation Group (GIG) is looking for a talented Senior Engineer in the medical space who is a hardworking, humble achiever, and eager to grow professionally. In this role, we are looking for someone who is heavily experienced in medical product development, specifically shoulders, hips or knees to help continue and foster our growth.GIG is an early-stage investor and developer of innovative medical devices. We bring together a wealth of management experience, operational excellence, and engineering talent to bring new medical innovations into commercialization.

Some of your job duties may include:

  • Manage projects from initial concept through to production, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project goals
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical and creative alignment
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring effective allocation of financial resources
  • Monitor expenditures and adjust as necessary
  • Ensure all design and development activities comply with relevant technical and regulatory standards
  • Maintain documentation for regulatory submissions and quality management systems
  • Lead the design and development of medical and surgical components, equipment, and instruments
  • Understands and makes well-reasoned design decisions and tradeoffs in their area; able to work in all areas of their core anatomical experience
  • Create and modify detailed CAD models and technical drawings
  • Conduct tests to evaluate product performance, safety, and functionality
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with surgeons, clients, and suppliers
  • Actively seek and incorporate feedback from stakeholders into the design and development process
  • Understands and has experience in the testing and validation of cleaning, packaging and sterilization systems and processes
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and development processes.

Our Ideal candidate would have the following skills and experiences:

  • BS/BA degree from an accredited institution in engineering or a related field. Advanced Degree
  • A minimum of 4 years experience in medical product development or a related field with demonstrated industry knowledge
  • Ability to work with and coordinate with other departments/personnel in a collaborative and solutions-oriented manner
  • Significant, demonstrable market intelligence, product knowledge and expertise
  • Excellent communication, presentation and demonstration skills
  • PC/Windows/Office/Google proficiency and company system of record
  • High level of empathy to help guide decision making
  • Demonstrates knowledge of industry trends in area of expertise, assessment of unmet clinical needs, and awareness of new technologies that could affect area of expertise
  • Understands and makes well-reasoned design decisions and tradeoffs in their area
  • High level of customer service with excellent oral and written communication skills
