Job summary

Southern California Edison (SCE) is seeking a Senior Engineer 1 in Distribution Engineering Automation & Power Quality/Electric Magnetic Fields in Santa Ana, CA. The role leads cross‑functional process improvements and data‑driven decision making to enhance grid reliability, safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a scientific/technical/math field.
• 7+ years of engineering experience in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments.
• Valid Class C Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Oversees engineers performing diagnostics, monitoring and inspecting equipment and reviewing grid technologies.
• Leads the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and other documentation to communicate project status, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Collaborates with cross‑functional teams to ensure development, integration and implementation of future technologies and asset performance management strategies.
• Assists in engineering and business initiatives and grid strategies, including development of procedures and design recommendations.
• Supports new equipment installation and startup, then leads handover to ramp and sustaining phases.
• Leads junior engineers in investigating threats on the distribution system infrastructure.
• Gathers and correlates data using engineering studies and procedures, including routine testing.
• Facilitates training and professional development for engineering team members.
