Job summary

Thunder Valley Casino Resort is seeking a Senior Engineer in Lincoln, CA to lead maintenance across the property’s mechanical systems. You will respond to assignments, supervise the Engineering team, and ensure safe, efficient operation of all facilities in a 24-hour casino/resort environment.

Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma or GED, a minimum of 2 years’ related experience, and Journeyman-level competence in a trade or two trades.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of experience in maintenance or related field.
• Proficient in two building trades or Journeyman level in one trade.
• Certifications in plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, electrical, or vehicle servicing pursued or completed.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Valid CA driver’s license; ability to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.

Responsibilities

• Work under supervision of Engineering leadership.
• Repair and maintain all mechanical equipment as directed.
• Respond to guest and internal requests promptly to minimize disruption.

• Prepare bill of materials for tasks.
• Plan tasks ensuring availability of equipment, parts, and materials.
• Understand SDS sheets and keep SDS books updated.
• Know OSHA safety codes relating to chemicals and electrical equipment.

The Senior Engineer will respond to job assignments including, but not limited to, repair, installation, and preventive maintenance of all mechanical equipment and related components as directed. The Senior Engineer is responsible for the effective overall operation of the Engineering Department in meeting the 24-hour demands of a successful Casino/Resort operation. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.

Essential Functions

1. Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “Winning Attitude” company-wide culture and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.
2. Perform tasks under the supervision of the Engineering Supervisor, Chief Engineer, Facilities Manager, and Director of Facilities.
3. Make all necessary repairs to maintain the property’s operation.
4. Respond to all internal and external Guest complaints promptly and efficiently to avoid Guest inconvenience or discomfort.
5. Become thoroughly familiar with all systems throughout the property.
6. Responsible for training less experienced Team Members.
7. Maintain all electrical tools and maintenance equipment.
8. Ensure that all established rules, regulations, policies and procedures are strictly followed.
9. Formulate a bill of materials to accomplish all tasks.
10. Systematically prepare to assume job assignments ensuring necessary equipment, parts, and materials are available and tasks can be accomplished efficiently and safely.
11. Maintain understanding of SDS sheets, along with location of SDS books throughout property.
12. Be familiar with OSHA safety codes regarding chemicals and electrical equipment.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

1. High school diploma or successful completion of a GED Certificate.
2. Two (2) years of experience in the field or in a related area.
3. Must be proficient in two building trades or demonstrate “Journeyman” level in one specific trade.
4. Must have completed or be in the process of completing maintenance, service, and repair certifications in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, electrical, or vehicle servicing.
5. Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
6. Must have completed or be in the process of completing certification courses and be knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures in area(s) of specialty.
7. Ability to read and interpret blue prints, schematic drawings, and technical specifications.
8. Ability to use and carry job related equipment.
9. Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
10. At least 21 years of age.
11. Valid CA driver’s license.
12. Ability to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.

Physical Requirements

1. May require prolonged standing.
2. Requires bending, stooping and reaching from floor level.
3. Requires crawling in attic areas, climbing ladders and stairs.
4. May require lifting, transporting, pushing, pulling and maneuvering large loads weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
5. Requires hand/eye coordination and depth perception.
6. Manual dexterity to operate hand and foot controls.
7. Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
8. Requires the physical ability to stand and walk for duration of shift.

10. Requires the ability to operate and work from aerial lift equipment.
