Job summary

Stryker PV in Irvine, CA is seeking a Senior Engineer, Continuous Improvement to lead value stream mapping workshops and drive lean improvements across production. This onsite role focuses on implementing future state designs, reducing waste, and sustaining product quality in a highly regulated medical device environment.

The candidate will partner with cross-functional teams, quantify cost reductions, and coach others in Lean concepts while supporting NPI and ramp-up activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline required.
• 2+ years of relevant work experience required.
• Experience in Medical Device or highly regulated industry preferred.
• Lean manufacturing certification preferred.
• Ability to identify waste and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead value stream mapping workshops and kaizen events.
• Oversee future state implementation and monitor lean metrics.
• Quantify CI cost reductions with Finance; coach others in Lean concepts.
• Support New Product Introduction and legacy ramp-up plans.
• Contribute to infrastructure configuration for optimal efficiencies.

Job description

What you will do-

Stryker is one of the world’s leading medical technology companies and is dedicated to improving patient outcomes and making healthcare better. Our products are used in operating rooms throughout the world, consisting of surgical power tools, batteries, and procedure-specific accessories. As a Senior Engineer, Continuous Improvement, you will be responsible for evaluating and improving value streams. You will design lean systems, influence cross-functional teams, and execute improvement initiatives to continuously drive top performance from our production system. This is an onsite position at Stryker PV in Irvine, CA.

Additional responsibilities:

• Lead value stream mapping workshops and kaizen events
• Oversee future state implementation
• Monitor & improve lean metrics (lead time, changeover time, inventory levels, etc.)
• Evaluate / design and implement process and process flow improvements to enhance productivity, reduce waste, while maintaining or improving product quality
• Partner with Finance associates to quantify CI cost reductions
• Personally execute improvements
• Coach others in Lean concepts
• Work closely and collaboratively with members of other teams in a fast-paced environment
• Identify root causes of issues, determine potential solutions, and evaluate them against requirements
• Follow the company’s standards for process development, quality and safety
• Support New Product Introduction and/or Legacy product Ramp-Up plans.
• Contribute to infrastructure configuration to ensure optimal efficiencies

What you need-

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline required
• 2+ years of relevant work experience required
• Experience working in Medical Device or a highly regulated industry required
• Certification in Lean manufacturing - preferred
• Ability to identify waste, formulate action plans and drive improvement – preferred
• Shingijutsumethodology experience or similar – highly preferred
