Senior Engineer (CAD, Auto Exterior Lighting)
Full‑time position at Sonsoft, Inc. – a U.S.-based corporation specialized in software development, consultancy, and IT services.
Responsibilities
- Perform engineering design, analysis, and verification for auto exterior lighting components such as head lamps, rear lamps, CHMSL, fog lamps, and auxiliary lamps.
- Lead product development activities from benchmark and concept evolution through detailed design, design verification, product validation, and launch.
- Conduct statistical analysis, dimensional management, and prepare engineering documentation including DFMEA, DFMA, and other required reports.
- Gather and analyze requirements, perform feasibility checks, engineering studies, and execute CAD quality checks and design reviews at part, assembly, and drawing levels.
- Manage data, project tracking, and perform environmental/load and kinematics checks.
- Operate in CAD environments covering 3D part modeling, assembly creation, kinematics modeling, sheet metal design, surfacing, and detail drawing creation.
- Collaborate within a diverse, multi‑stakeholder team environment.
- Utilize PDM systems (Teamcenter, Enovia, etc.) for data management and version control, and apply knowledge of FMVSS and European/ROW regulations for exterior lighting.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, analytical solutions, and client interfacing.
- Work effectively in global delivery settings.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 4 years of experience with auto exterior lighting components.
- Minimum 4 years of combined experience in plastics, sheet metal, and mechanisms.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in statistical analysis, dimensional management, and engineering documentation (DFMEA, DFMA).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in various CAD modules (combined).
- At least 1 year of experience with PDM software environments and knowledge of relevant safety standards.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, analytical, and client‑interfacing skills.
- At least 4 years of experience in information technology.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent; alternatively, three years of progressive experience in the specialty for each year of education.
