Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group is seeking an Automotive Exterior Lighting Engineer with 6+ years of hands-on lighting development experience. Collaboration with global teams is expected.

You will design exterior lamp assemblies, release drawings in PLM, and coordinate with Tier-1/OEM partners using Catia V5 and Teamcenter.

English proficiency is required; the role emphasizes cross-functional teamwork and mechanical-electrical integration.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of automotive lighting development experience.
• Must have lighting program work experience.
• Education BE or BTech / M.Sc / M.E in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• English is a must.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop exterior lighting using Catia V5 (front, rear and center).
• Design lamp housing, heatsink, 2K lens, light blades, bezels, base plates and assemblies.
• Perform DFA/DFM evaluations for metal/plastic parts; ensure tolerance schemes.
• Release 3D and 2D drawings in PLM; coordinate with Tier-1/OEM teams.

Job Summary: Automotive Exterior lighting engineer

Core Responsibilities And Activities

• Experience in Design and development of exterior (Front, Rear and Center) lighting using Catia V5
• Concept developments, Analytical calculations on design requirements
• Experience in lamp integration with vehicle is preferred.
• Experience in designing Lamp housing, Heatsink, 2K Lens, light blades, Bezels, Base plates Lamp assemblies.
• Hands on experience in DFA, DFM evaluations for Metal Plastic parts, Gap and Flush, Tolerance calculation
• Integration of electrical PCB’s, connectors with space optimization techniques
• Knowledge on thermal, mechanical and defogging requirements for lamps
• 2D drawings creation for mechanical parts with suitable tolerance scheme.
• Experience in release of 3D and 2D in PLM system
• Working with Tier-1/OEM team for acceptance, release & improvements

Other Responsibilities

• Should coordinate with engineers located at different global technical centers.
• Co-ordination with OEM and supplier resident engineer if required
