Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a senior software engineer to lead Layer 1 blockchain integrations and infrastructure development. You will design and operate core services, indexers, explorers, and cross-chain solutions, while ensuring secure, auditable workflows.

You will collaborate with custody, security, and platform teams to deliver scalable, reliable blockchain capabilities and to apply GenAI tools to accelerate analysis, development, and documentation.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience building or integrating blockchain or distributed ledger systems.
• Strong understanding of Layer 1 blockchain protocols and transaction lifecycles.
• Experience developing backend services, APIs, and infrastructure components.
• Proficiency in Go, Java, Rust, Python, or similar programming languages.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across custody, security, and platform engineering teams.
• Experience building blockchain indexers, explorers, or chain analytics platforms.
• Familiarity with wallet architecture and blockchain signing workflows.
• Experience working with crypto custody platforms or security-sensitive financial systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in distributed and asynchronous environments.
• Experience using AI tools to support software development.

Responsibilities

Layer 1 Blockchain Integration & Platforms- Integrate the systems with existing Layer 1 blockchains, including Ethereum-based and other enterprise blockchain platforms.- Evaluate, build, and extend Layer 1 capabilities to support custody, scalability, and resiliency needs.- Understand transaction lifecycles, finality, forks, reorganizations, and event propagation.- Ensure blockchain integrations remain reliable under production workloads and stress conditions.

Blockchain InfrastructureDesign and build core blockchain infrastructure services, including:- Indexers and event processors- Block explorers and observability tools- Chain data services and APIs- Cross-chain and interoperability solutions

Additional responsibilities:- Ensure blockchain data pipelines are accurate, performant, and auditable.- Support operational tooling for monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident response.- Wallet Architecture & Development- Develop blockchain-facing wallet services.- Build transaction creation, signing, and submission workflows.- Integrate with custody key management systems, including MPCs, HSMs, and signing services.- Maintain a clear separation between protocol logic, security controls, and business rules.- Partner with custody and security teams to validate end-to-end transaction flows.

Custody-Related Blockchain Workflows- Support on-chain transaction execution.- Monitor and reconcile blockchain events.- Develop chain-specific failure handling and recovery patterns.- Help define secure approaches for interacting with smart contracts and token standards.- Ensure workflows align with custody policies, approvals, and risk controls.- Engineering Excellence & AI-Augmented Development- Build reliable, testable, and observable blockchain services using modern engineering practices.- Utilize GenAI and agentic AI tools to accelerate:- Protocol analysis- Software development and testing- Documentation and knowledge sharing- Maintain high engineering standards while leveraging AI to improve speed and efficiency.
