Job summary

Sogeclair in Wichita, KS seeks an Electrical/Aerospace engineer to design electrical power generation and distribution systems for defense projects. You will analyze requirements, review drawings, and create test plans while coordinating with suppliers and internal teams.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering with 5+ years of experience, and are familiar with FAA, TCCA and EASA Part 25 requirements and DO-160/178/254 standards. US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical system design.
• Knowledge of FAA, TCCA and EASA Part 25 certification requirements.
• Knowledge of system safety processes.
• Familiar with RTCA DO-160, DO-178 and DO-254.
• Proficient with MS Office; AutoCAD preferred.
• Authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Review installation drawings, qualification test data and reports.
• Decompose statements of work into detailed requirements.
• Analyze ground and flight test data to verify system performance.
• Research specifications for component selections.
• Support change management through design reviews, trade studies and implementation.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal customers to resolve aircraft build or test issues.
• Support design reviews and program governance sessions.
• Ensure compliance with 14 CFR Part 25 FAA, TCCA, and EASA certification requirements.

• Create deliverables to support these solutions in the active program phase:

Requirements

• You will hold a Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
• You will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical system design or a related field.
• You will have a working knowledge of FAA, TCCA and EASA Part 25 certification requirements
• You will have a working knowledge of system safety processes.
• You will be familiar with RTCA DO-160, DO-178 and DO-254 standards.
• You will be proficient with MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access).
• Experience with AutoCAD is also preferred.
• You must exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• You will demonstrate interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, employees, management, and suppliers.
• You must be self-motivated and be able to coordinate multiple activities and manage time effectively.
