United Utility Services, headquartered in The Woodlands, TX, seeks a Senior Engineer to lead engineering quality and technical oversight across multiple projects. You’ll mentor staff, set technical expectations, and ensure deliverables meet client standards and regulatory obligations.

The role emphasizes leadership, complex problem solving, and collaboration with project teams, clients, and contractors. Occasional travel and field support may be required as part of a dynamic utility delivery

The salary for this position is $120,000.00-$145,000.00 yearly. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.

About the Role

The Senior Engineer serves as a senior technical resource responsible for engineering quality, technical leadership, and complex problem solving across multiple projects. This role provides Quality Control oversight, mentors engineering staff, establishes technical expectations, and ensures engineering deliverables consistently meet client requirements, industry standards, and regulatory obligations.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical lead and Quality Control reviewer for engineering deliverables.
• Review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, and technical documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Solve complex engineering challenges while providing technical guidance to project teams.
• Establish and promote engineering best practices, standards, and quality expectations.
• Mentor engineers, designers, and technical staff to support professional development.
• Coordinate technical activities with project managers, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Support construction, commissioning, field investigations, and technical issue resolution as required.
• Participate in proposal development, project planning, and technical risk assessments.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, lessons learned, and engineering standard development.
• Represent United Utility as a trusted technical resource with clients and project teams.

  Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
• 8–10 years of engineering experience.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license for the state of Texas.
• Demonstrated expertise in technical leadership, engineering quality, and complex problem solving.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, applicable codes, client standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, mentoring, and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel occasionally as required.

  Preferred Qualifications

• Experience serving as Engineer of Record.
• Experience leading QA/QC programs and technical review processes.
• Experience supporting complex, multidisciplinary engineering projects.
• Project management experience and client‑facing leadership responsibilities.
• Experience developing engineering standards, procedures, and best practices.

This position is primarily office-based with occasional field visits to client facilities and job sites. Field work may involve walking on uneven terrain, exposure to outdoor weather conditions, and the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE). Travel is expected to be limited and based on project needs.
