Wood Rodgers, a leading engineering consulting firm, is hiring a senior engineer to join our Geotechnical Department.
This is a staffed, salary, exempt position.
A day in the life as a Wood Rodgers’ Senior Geotechnical Engineer
As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you’ll work on such projects that include residential, commercial, industrial, and public works. Among a variety of tasks, a few things you can count on are:
- Develop and maintain internal and external client relationships, including project and non-project related face-to-face meetings.
- Prepare proposals for moderate to complex geotechnical projects.
- Develop and execute services and analyses indicated in the project scope.
- Perform engineering analysis using company and industry methodologies and standards.
- Provide work direction and training for engineering staff in exploration, sampling, laboratory testing, analysis, and report writing.
- Prepare engineering reports providing professional opinions and reasonable geotechnical solutions including:
- Formulating design recommendations for civil, commercial, and residential structures.
- Providing recommendations for roadway rehabilitation and new structural pavement sections.
- Review of development plans for compliance with the project’s geotechnical report requirements.
- Respond to Requests for Information (RFI) during construction.
- Budget management and invoicing responsibilities.

Qualifications & Skills
- Master’s degree (MS) in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer in Nevada and California.
- Ten or more years of experience in performing work as a geotechnical engineer.
- Project and client management along with managing and directing staff.
- Familiarity with software for assessing slope stability, liquefaction, pavement design, and deep foundations.

Offers will be based on several factors, including experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, training, and location. Base pay is just one part of the comprehensive compensation package offered by Wood Rodgers.
