Job summary

Magnite, the world’s largest independent sell-side advertising platform, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the SpringServe Ad Server team. You will help build a globally distributed ad serving system handling billions of requests daily, taking on initiatives to improve delivery and tackle hard technical challenges.

You will work in a cross-functional, collaborative environment with a hybrid schedule and remote options, contributing to design, development, testing, and production

Qualifications

• BA/BS in CS or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with Java backend development and asynchronous programming.
• Experience with CI tools (Git, Jenkins) and relational DB design.

Responsibilities

• Participate in full-stack design, development, testing, release, and maintenance of a core product offering related to an advertising server and buying platform.
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with your technical expertise.
• Be a creative problem-solver able to design and implement reliable and maintainable solutions to challenging problems.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and project plans.
• Write production-ready code and unit tests that meet system and business requirements.
• Respond to feature requests, bug reports, performance issues, and ad-hoc questions.
• Work collaboratively with multiple teams to deliver quality software.
• Support operation of services in production.
• Perform design and code reviews.

We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join our SpringServe Ad Server team where you will work on a globally distributed ad serving system that handles hundreds of billions of requests a day. You have the opportunity to take on project initiatives to improve the delivery of our systems, tackle hard technical challenges, and contribute to a small team of passionate individuals.

As a Senior Software Engineer You Will:

We’re looking for someone with:

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.


• 5+ years of relevant work experience in software development


• Development experience in Java for back-end development with a strong understanding of asynchronous programming.


• A strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and an ability to recognize the business and technical trade-offs between different solutions


• Experience with agile development and CI tools like git, a build management system like Jenkins, and Jira Postgres or other Relational DB experience with SQL and Table design


• Ability to context switch and manage competing priorities

Nice to have:

• General Ad Technology experience, ideally with header bidding technologies in a production environment

Salary & Compensation

In California, the base salary range for this role is $140,000 - $150,000. In Colorado, the base salary range for this role is $130,000 - $140,000. In New York, the base salary range for this role is $140,000 - $150,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on location, experience, skills, and internal equity. This role is also eligible for: Annual performance-based bonus Equity (NASDAQ: MGNI) Comprehensive benefits package. During the interview process, candidates will receive more specific information about the salary range applicable to their experience and location.
