We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join our DV+ Delivery Engineering team where you will work on a globally distributed ad serving system that handles hundreds of millions of requests a day. You have the opportunity to take on project initiatives to improve the delivery of our systems, tackle hard technical challenges, and contribute to a small team of passionate individuals. In NY, the base salary range for this position is: $125,000 - $135,000 in addition to an annual variable bonus based on performance and company equity (NASDAQ: MGNI). In CO, the base salary range for this position is: $115,000 - $125,000 in addition to an annual variable bonus based on performance and company equity (NASDAQ: MGNI). In CA, the base salary range for this position is: $125,000 - $135,000 in addition to an annual variable bonus based on performance and company equity (NASDAQ: MGNI).

  • Participate in the backend design, development, testing, release, and maintenance of low-latency core components as they relate to a critical advertising buying platform
  • Work with the team to deliver projects within deadlines and contribute your technical expertise
  • Be a creative problem-solver able to design and implement reliable and maintainable solutions to challenging problems
  • Translate business requirements into technical designs and project plans
  • Write high-performance, memory-safe, and production-ready code in C++ or Rust along with comprehensive unit tests
  • Respond to feature requests, bug reports, performance issues, and ad-hoc questions
  • Work collaboratively with multiple teams to deliver quality software
  • Support operation of services in production
  • Perform design and code reviews
We’re looking for someone with:
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in software development
  • Strong development experience in modern C++ (C++17/20) or Rust for backend systems
  • Strong understanding of low-level systems programming, memory management, concurrency, algorithms, and data structures
  • Experience with agile development and CI tools like git and Jira Postgres or other Relational DB experience with SQL and Table design
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with asynchronous I/O frameworks and multithreaded design
  • Experience with high-volume, distributed systems
  • General Ad Technology experience, ideally with header bidding technologies in a production environment
