Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead a modernized platform for the Legal and Public Policy LOB in Minnesota. You will guide cross‑functional teams, design scalable cloud solutions, and ensure alignment with business objectives and agile practices.

The role requires hands‑on experience with Java (preferably) or .NET, Angular, Oracle, Kafka, Redis, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), plus leading vendor migrations and mentoring engineers across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Collaborate with business and internal teams to gather requirements and develop solutions.
• Hands-on Azure deployment experience for vendor products.
• Strong IaC knowledge.
• Experience integrating CI/CD pipelines with Azure services.
• Design secure cloud architectures leveraging IAM, encryption, and monitoring.
• Proven experience in optimizing cloud infrastructure for scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
• Providing technical leadership and mentoring team members.
• Recent experience in designing and developing distributed data systems using Java (EE), Oracle SQL, and Angular.
• Experience using Java/J2EE technologies to develop scalable enterprise‑grade applications, libraries, and frameworks.
• Designed and developed solution architecture to scale backend systems with Spring, Spring MVC, and RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on experience with messaging systems like Kafka.
• Utilized DevOps technologies for CI/CD including Ansible, Jenkins, JFrog, and Git.
• Designed and implemented database development on Oracle Exadata.
• Proven experience in leading and mentoring a team of engineers.
• Strong understanding of software development, testing, deployment, and support using agile methodologies.
• Expert‑level proficiency in Java EE and related frameworks (e.g., Spring, Hibernate) and advanced SQL.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to write specifications and design documents.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior Engineer to join our team in building a modernized platform for Legal and Public Policy LOB. This role blends leadership and design, requiring deep expertise in modern technologies.

The Senior Engineer will guide cross‑functional teams in delivering high‑impact features, ensuring alignment with business objectives, technical standards, and agile delivery practices.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in leading teams working in Java (or .NET although Java is preferred), Angular, Oracle, Kafka, Redis, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and leading cloud migrations for vendor applications.

Required Qualifications

• Collaborating with business and internal teams to gather requirements and develop solutions
• Hands‑on experience in preparing for and deploying applications on Azure cloud (for vendor products)
• Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

Pay and benefits information

Pay range: $122,000.00 - $200,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible. This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan.
