Fast Dolphin, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Material Flow Engineer for a 12-month onsite project in Austin, TX or Boston, MA.

The role focuses on designing and optimizing warehouse layouts, material handling systems, and manufacturing logistics to improve throughput and space utilization. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in material flow or related engineering, hands-on experience with AGV/AMR/AGC, conveyors, AS/RS, and strong AutoCAD and FlexSim skills.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Material Flow Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Warehouse Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on experience in warehouse and material-flow design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and FlexSim or equivalent simulation tools.
• Strong knowledge of AGV, AMR, AGC, conveyors, ASRS, VRC, and aisle sizing.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize warehouse layouts and material-flow systems to improve operational efficiency.
• Develop material handling solutions involving AGV, AMR, AGC, conveyors, ASRS, and VRC systems.
• Evaluate aisle sizing, storage configurations, and material movement requirements.
• Create and review warehouse layouts and material handling designs using AutoCAD.
• Utilize FlexSim or equivalent simulation tools to analyze material flow and identify opportunities for optimization.
• Identify and resolve material handling bottlenecks to improve throughput and space utilization.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and logistics teams to support material-flow improvements.

The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with automated material handling technologies, facility layout design, and simulation tools to improve material movement, space utilization, and operational efficiency.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of AGV, AMR, AGC, conveyors, ASRS, VRC, and aisle sizing.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and FlexSim or equivalent simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of material handling systems, warehouse layouts, and manufacturing logistics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Python and/or SQL.
