Job summary

VSE Aviation seeks an Engine Technician II in Davie, FL. This FAA/DOT regulated, safety-sensitive role involves building external engine components and assisting with internal repairs under supervision. A strong foundation in engine maintenance and the ability to work with minimal supervision are required.

Travel may be needed based on business needs; a solid attention to detail and communication skills are essential to keep records compliant with FAA regulations and company procedures.

Qualifications

• FAA A&P certification required.
• 3+ years hands-on aviation engine maintenance experience.
• Proficient in reading and applying technical manuals.
• Capable of working independently on external engine assembly.
• Basic understanding of internal engine repair processes.
• Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude and safety awareness.
• Team-oriented with solid communication and documentation skills.
• Able to read, analyze and interpret technical journals.
• Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Independently build and install Quick Engine Change components with final inspection sign-off.
• Assist in internal engine repairs under guidance (module removal, installation, disassembly).
• Follow AMM, ESM and OEM documentation for maintenance tasks.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company procedures.
• Keep work areas clean and adhere to safety protocols.
• Support training and guidance of junior technicians as needed.
