Job summary
General Motors in Milford, Michigan is seeking a Software Design Engineer to join the Controls and Software team. You will design, implement, test, and refine embedded control software for our next-generation engine and transmission platforms, collaborating with controls engineers, systems engineers, and stakeholders in an Agile Scrum environment.
You will lead development of embedded software using C, Simulink, and auto-generated code, ensure compliance with SSQA, create Software Design
Qualifications
- BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering or similar.
- 5+ years engineering experience.
- DFSS Black Belt Certified.
- Strong proficiency in C programming and embedded development workflows.
- Familiarity with Git and CI.
- Knowledge of Simulink, MATLAB, DOORS.
Responsibilities
- Lead embedded software development for controls and diagnostics of engine/transmission systems.
- Collaborate across scrum teams with controls engineers, systems engineers, and architects.
- Ensure traceability and alignment with program requirements and SSQA standards.
- Develop, test, and maintain software with C, Simulink, and auto-generated code.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design reviews and process improvements.
