Job summary

The Hartford is seeking an Energy Express Underwriter to underwrite renewal accounts and collaborate with agency partners across an assigned territory. The role emphasizes serving agents, applying guidelines, and driving favorable renewal outcomes within authority levels.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of P&C Middle Market underwriting experience.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external partners.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Ability to think analytically, make recommendations and propose solutions.
• High energy self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit.
• Solid time, organizational and desk management skills.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Underwrites renewal business including some account rounding opportunities.
• Applies underwriting guidelines in decision making.
• Underwrites renewals within authority level.
• Consults with Energy referral points on renewals outside authority level.
• Drives renewal retention and risk-reward outcomes using Hartford tools.
