Job summary

FMI’s Strategy Practice seeks a high-energy Senior Consultant to join its Energy & Power team. The role owns workstreams, co-facilitates sessions, and delivers client-ready outputs under Engagement Manager guidance. Travel up to 40% may be required; visa sponsorship is not available.

This full-time opportunity supports clients nationwide with potential locations in Raleigh, Denver, Houston, Tampa or remote work options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field; master’s degree preferred.
• 3–6 years of consulting experience in energy and power.
• Direct experience with major capital project management (generation, transmission, distribution, gas transmission, or data centers) preferred.
• Operational leadership experience managing individuals and cross-functional teams.
• Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and ability to synthesize large data sets into client-ready deliverables.
• Very strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned workstreams within client engagements and manage scope, milestones, and deliverables.
• Co-facilitate internal project teams and establish roles and responsibilities.
• Participate in scoping with FMI Partners and clients to define project scope.
• Coordinate client communications and kickoff meetings for assigned workstreams.
• Provide input on workstream plans based on client feedback.
• Maintain proactive communication with clients and project leadership.
• Deliver high-quality, client-ready work products for review by leadership.
• Build trusted client relationships and connect clients with resources.
• Mentor Analysts and Consultants on assigned workstreams.
• Contribute to business development and practice growth through thought leadership.
