Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Maryland Heights, MO is seeking a Senior Energy Engineer to lead energy evaluations and facility improvements. You will visit sites, analyze current systems, and develop plans for improving energy performance across our Smart Buildings portfolio.

You will drive pre-sale activities with Sales, collaborate with operations and vendors, and model energy savings, costs, and ROI to support performance contracts and digital solutions across the Siemens Digitalization Strategy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in energy industry supporting performance-based projects or energy services.
• Experience with standard ASHRAE energy calculations.
• Strong verbal and written communication in English.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must be 21+ with a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform and lead existing building commissioning and audits to identify Facility Improvement Measures (FIMs).
• Support pre-sale activities with Sales to qualify energy efficiency opportunities.
• Analyze blueprints and perform site surveys to develop energy models for loads and HVAC systems.
• Develop design concepts and schematics for FIMs including scope of work and cost estimates.
• Prepare ROI models and partner with Digital Service Team on Smart Building solutions.

The Senior Energy Engineer conducts facility site visits, analyzesthe customer’scurrent situation,and producesplans forFacility Improvement Measures (FIMs).This position also assistssales and operations in the development, procurement,and execution of performance contracts. As a Senior Energy Engineer, you will:

• Perform and lead existing building commissioning and perform and supervise preliminary and detailed facility audits to identify Facility Improvement Measures (FIMs) and opportunities.
• Participate in pre-sale activities, working closely with Sales to identify and technically qualify customer opportunities for energy efficiency and work with Siemens operations teams and outside vendors as it pertains to developing FIMs.
• Analyzeblueprintsand perform site surveys to identify mechanical, electrical,and control systems to determine facility operational characteristics and apply building energy simulation programs to develop energy, cooling,and heating load-building models using modeling software.
• Perform industry-standard energy calculations (such as weather-based BIN calculations) and develop design conceptsand schematicsconcerning recommended FIMs, including thescope of workdescriptions,sequences of operations, code deficiency evaluations,savings potential, cost estimates,and data to verify FIMs.
• Prepare financial modelsincluding Return on Investment (ROI), life cycle costs,and internal rate of return and work collaboratively with our Digital Service Team on Smart Building solutions, as part of Siemens Digitalization Strategy.

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of energy industry experience supportingperformance-based projects or energy services
• On-the-job or educational experience with standard ASHRAE energy calculations
• Verbal and written communication skills in English
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
• Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering or related technical field
• Energy Manager or Professional Engineercertification
• 7+ Years of experience with Energy industry experiences supportingperformance-based projects or energy services
