Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Senior Energy Engineer to conduct site visits, analyze current conditions, and develop Facility Improvement Measures (FIMs) to improve energy performance. The role supports sales and operations in performance contracts and aligns with our Smart Buildings initiatives to create efficient, safe environments.

The candidate will lead audits, model energy loads, and produce financial analyses (ROI, NPV) while collaborating with the Digital Service Team on Smart Building solutions

Qualifications

• 5+ years of energy industry experience supporting performance-based projects or energy services.
• On-the-job or educational experience with standard ASHRAE energy calculations.
• Fluent/clear English communication, both verbal and written.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and basic data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform and lead existing building commissioning and conduct facility audits to identify Facility Improvement Measures (FIMs).
• Participate in pre-sale activities with Sales to identify opportunities for energy efficiency and coordinate with operations and vendors to develop FIMs.
• Analyze blueprints and perform site surveys to model energy, cooling, and heating loads using energy-modeling software.
• Perform energy calculations (e.g., weather-based index calculations) and develop design concepts, scopes of work, and cost estimates for FIMs.
• Prepare financial models (ROI, life cycle costs, internal rate of return) and collaborate with the Digital Service Team on Smart Building solutions.

The Senior Energy Engineer conducts facility site visits, analyzesthe customer’scurrent situation,and producesplans forFacility Improvement Measures (FIMs).This position also assistssales and operations in the development, procurement,and execution of performance contracts.OurSmart Buildings help to create efficient, safe,responsive, and responsible environments. As a Senior Energy Engineer, you will:

• Perform and lead existing building commissioning and perform and supervise preliminary and detailed facility audits to identify Facility Improvement Measures (FIMs) and opportunities.
• Participate in pre-sale activities, working closely with Sales to identify and technically qualify customer opportunities for energy efficiency and work with Siemens operations teams and outside vendors as it pertains to developing FIMs.
• Analyze blueprints and perform site surveys to identify mechanical, electrical, and control systems to determine facility operational characteristics and apply building energy simulation programs to develop energy, cooling and heating load-building models using modeling software.
• Perform industry-standard energy calculations (such as weather-based BIN calculations) and develop design concepts and schematics concerning recommended FIMs, including the scope of work descriptions, sequences of operations, code deficiency evaluations, savings potential, cost estimates, and data to verify FIMs.
• Prepare financial models including Return on Investment (ROI), life cycle costs, and internal rate of return and work collaboratively with our Digital Service Team on Smart Building solutions, as part of Siemens Digitalization Strategy.

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of energy industry experience supporting performance-based projects or energy services
• On-the-job or educational experience with standard ASHRAE energy calculations
• Verbal and written communication skills in English
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
• Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license with limited violations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering or related technical field
• Energy Manager or Professional Engineer certification
• Commissioning Professional certification
• 7+ Years of experience with Energy industry experiences supporting performance-based projects or energy services

The pay range for this position is $74,970 - $128,520 annually with a target incentive of 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
