Job summary

Grainger is hiring a Senior Infrastructure Engineer in Lake Forest, IL. You will engineer, configure, and support enterprise endpoint and virtual desktop technologies across a complex IT environment, ensuring secure, scalable operations.

You will manage Endpoint platforms (Intune, Jamf, Ivanti), develop automation via PowerShell, Bash or Python, and collaborate across teams to implement integrated solutions and roadmaps. This is a hybrid role with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in information technology, CS or engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in information technology.
• 3+ years in endpoint engineering, mobile device engineering, infrastructure engineering, or related field.
• Experience with enterprise endpoint OS and management platforms (macOS/Windows/iOS/Android) and virtual desktop infra (Windows 365/Nutanix).
• Strong scripting and automation skills with PowerShell; Bash or Python.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, configure, deploy, and support enterprise endpoint and virtual desktop platforms (macOS, Windows, iOS, Android).
• Administer and optimize endpoint management platforms (Intune, Jamf, Ivanti, Velocity, Zebra StageNow).
• Develop and maintain automation/configuration-as-code using PowerShell, Bash or Python; GitHub and GitHub Actions.
• Maintain security baselines, configuration standards and compliance controls across endpoints.
• Monitor health, troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and escalate incidents as needed.
• Document standards, procedures, and automation routines for repeatable practices.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, security, identity, operations, and vendor teams.
