Amcor is seeking a Legal Counsel – Employment & Labour Law in the United States to serve as the primary advisor on U.S. employment issues. You will provide practical guidance, support HR and leaders, and manage or coordinate litigation as needed.

The role requires 8–10+ years of employment law experience, a JD/LLB with an active license, and strong communication skills to influence leaders across the organization. Travel ~10–15% may be required.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor or equivalent with active license to practice in applicable U.S. jurisdictions.
• 8–10+ years of legal experience, focusing on employment law and litigation management.
• Strong research, writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and ability to influence leaders at all levels.
• High integrity, ethics, confidentiality, and compliance mindset.
• Ability to travel ~10–15% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert employment law counsel across performance management, discipline, terminations, accommodations, leaves, drug testing, and investigations.
• Develop and enhance HR policies, handbooks, forms, and training materials; deliver trainings.
• Monitor federal, state, and local employment laws; communicate implications to HR and leadership.
• Lead or support litigation strategy and coordinate with outside counsel.
• Advise on commercial contracting, compliance, and dispute resolution.
• Support M&A due diligence, integration, and public company reporting as needed.
• Identify legal risks and promote ethics governance and regulatory adherence.
