POP MART is hiring a Senior Employee Relations & HR Compliance Specialist to oversee employee relations and compliance across North America. You will handle investigations, advise managers, and support policy updates in a fast-paced, multi-state environment.

The role partners with Legal, HRBP, Retail Ops and Payroll to reduce risk, improve processes, and ensure consistent practices across the Americas. Strong investigative and HRIS skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, legal studies, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience with employee relations and investigations.
  • Ability to independently manage an active caseload and prioritize.
  • Strong experience conducting investigations and documenting findings.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. employment laws (discrimination, harassment, wage & hour).
  • Experience advising on performance management, attendance and workplace conflict.
  • Strong interviewing, analytical, writing and documentation skills.
  • Ability to build trust with impartiality and discretion.
  • Familiarity with HRIS, ER case management, LMS, and related systems.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

POP MART Americas, Inc. is seeking a Senior Employee Relations & HR Compliance Specialist to support a fair, consistent, and respectful employee experience across our corporate and retail operations. This role will primarily manage employee relations matters, conduct workplace investigations, and advise managers on performance management, corrective action, and workplace concerns, while supporting HR compliance programs across the Americas.

The Senior Employee Relations & HR Compliance Specialist will partner closely with HR Business Partners, Legal, Retail Operations, Loss Prevention, Payroll, Benefits, and external counsel to resolve employee concerns, strengthen management practices, and reduce employment risk. Additional responsibilities include policy development, compliance audits, manager training, and implementation of employment requirements across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and future expansion into South America.

This position is ideal for an experienced, hands-on employee relations professional who exercises sound judgment, manages sensitive situations objectively, and translates policy and legal guidance into practical recommendations.

Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Workplace Investigations
  • Manage employee relations cases from intake through resolution, including conduct, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, conflict, attendance, and policy violations.
  • Assess concerns based on urgency and risk and accelerate serious or complex matters to HR Leadership and Legal.
  • Conduct thorough and impartial workplace investigations, including planning, interviews, evidence review, findings, and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate case records, investigation reports, and documentation while handling sensitive information with discretion.
  • Advise managers and HRBPs on employee concerns, performance management, coaching, corrective action, policy interpretation, and workplace conflict.
  • Review disciplinary actions and separations for consistency, documentation, and potential risk.
  • Draft and review written warnings, PIPs, investigation outcomes, coaching recaps, and separation documentation.
  • Coordinate with HR, Benefits, and Legal when matters involve leaves, accommodations, workplace injuries, or protected activities.
  • Follow up after case resolution to identify retaliation, recurring concerns, or additional action needed.
  • Track case trends and recommend training, policy, or operational improvements.
HR Compliance & Policy Support
  • Support HR compliance across the Americas, with emphasis on corporate and retail employment practices.
  • Monitor employment law developments with Legal and help implement policy, process, and training updates.
  • Draft and maintain employee handbooks, HR policies, SOPs, templates, and manager resources.
  • Support compliance reviews involving wage and hour, timekeeping, meal and rest breaks, scheduling, sick leave, leaves, accommodations, and personnel records.
  • Conduct HR audits, identify gaps, and coordinate corrective actions across HR, Payroll, Benefits, HRIS, Operations, and Legal.
  • Maintain compliance calendars, required notices, training requirements, acknowledgments, and record retention practices.
  • Partner with Learning & Development on manager training related to employee relations, documentation, corrective action, retaliation prevention, and compliance.
  • Support new store openings and market expansion by establishing consistent ER and compliance practices.
  • Assist Legal and external counsel with employment claims, agency inquiries, audits, and information requests.
  • Prepare leadership updates on employee relations trends, compliance findings, and recommended actions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Legal Studies, or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience with substantial employee relations, workplace investigations, and manager advisory experience.
  • Ability to independently manage an active caseload, prioritize concerns, and bring matters to timely resolution.
  • Strong experience conducting investigations, evaluating conflicting information, documenting findings, and making objective recommendations.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. employment laws covering discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, leaves, sick leave, and accommodations.
  • Experience advising on performance management, corrective action, attendance, workplace conflict, and separations.
  • Strong interviewing, analytical, writing, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to build trust while maintaining impartiality, discretion, and professional boundaries.
  • Strong judgment, organization, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with HRIS, ER case management, timekeeping, LMS, and document management systems; Workday, AllVoices, Lark, or similar systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting multi-state retail, hospitality, restaurant, or other distributed hourly workforces.
  • California employee relations and employment compliance experience strongly preferred.
  • Canada and/or Mexico ER or compliance experience; South America experience is a plus.
  • Experience with HR audits, policy development, corrective actions, and manager training.
  • Experience partnering with employment counsel on complex investigations, claims, or agency matters.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or similar certification preferred.
  • Spanish, French, or Portuguese language skills are a plus.

Physical Requirements

The base salary range for this position is $100,000–$130,000 annually. This range is provided in accordance with applicable state and local pay transparency laws and may vary based on geographic location. Individual compensation will be determined based on factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications. This position may also be eligible to participate in the Company’s incentive compensation program.
