Job summary

General Services Administration in Washington, DC seeks an Employee and Labor Relations Specialist in the Workforce Relations Center, OHRM. You will provide expert guidance on employee relations policies and programs and support enterprise-wide labor relations initiatives.

The role requires developing policies, coordinating with unions, and delivering training on key concepts, including reasonable accommodations and interactive processes at a national level.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience advising on employee and labor relations matters and interpreting laws, regulations, and policies.
• Experience researching labor relations issues and developing negotiation or mediation recommendations.
• Ability to develop or evaluate employee relations policies, programs, or procedures.
• Experience guiding accommodations, including the interactive process and reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and technical expertise on interpretation of HR policy in employee relations.
• Coordinates major employee relations issues and meetings with internal and external organizations; analyzes program measures.
• Leads or participates in national significance studies and employee relations initiatives.
• Represents the organization in negotiations, mediation, and labor relations matters; prepares proposals and responses.
• Coordinates with legal counsel, medical professionals, and external agencies to resolve complex accommodation cases.
