Job description

Under the direction of the Employee Relations and Labor Relations leadership, the Sr. Employee and Labor Relations Partner is responsible for advising managers and HR Business Partners (HRBPs) regarding complex employee relations situations and the interpretation of Human Resources policies, employment laws, and labor contracts. The role includes conducting investigations, supporting collective bargaining, developing relationships with union representatives, and analyzing employee relations trends to recommend proactive solutions. The Sr. ERLR Partner will collaborate with the Centers of Excellence (COEs) and the Office of General Counsel, serve as a subject matter expert, and lead projects and investigations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Provide HR policy guidance, including interpretation and implementation, and deliver leadership training on policies.
  2. Support managers with performance management, corrective actions, and conduct investigations.
  3. Partner with ERLR leadership and COEs on complex cases and legal proceedings.
  4. Advise on compliance with collective bargaining agreements and labor laws.
  5. Develop and maintain positive relationships with union representatives.
  6. Participate in collective bargaining negotiations and organize activities.
  7. Manage grievance processes, arbitration proceedings, and related documentation.
  8. Consult on conflict resolution and involve EAP and DEI resources as appropriate.
  9. Address employee concerns impacting the employee experience and collaborate on strategic responses.
  10. Oversee termination processes, including RIFs, and manage accommodation requests using HR case management systems.
  11. Utilize data analytics to identify trends, develop action plans, and conduct climate surveys.
  12. Maintain current knowledge of employment and labor laws, ensuring policy compliance.
  13. Provide ERLR services across divisions, including on-site visits as needed.
  14. Mentor and train ERLR staff, lead projects, and serve as a subject matter expert.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years in Employee Relations, Labor Relations, or HR Business Partner roles
  • Experience with employee investigations and labor relations preferred
  • HR certification preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems like Workday
