Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare is seeking a full-time Senior Emergency Veterinarian at Heart of Texas Veterinary Specialty Center in Round Rock, TX. The ideal candidate will have a passion for ER medicine and will work closely with the medical director to set standards and support ER veterinary staff.

Qualifications

Senior Emergency Veterinarian – Heart of Texas Veterinary Specialty Center

Heart of Texas Veterinary Specialty Center is looking for a full-time Senior Emergency Veterinarian to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community in Round Rock, TX.

You have a love of ER medicine and a desire to share that love In this fast-paced environment, you’ll work with the hospital medical director and specialists to set medical standards for the ER department. You’ll work alongside the medical director to evaluate ER veterinarian performance. Backed by Thrive’s nationwide network, innovative technology, and advanced training, you’ll stay focused on what matters most: providing outstanding care and improving patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Encourage, develop, and support CE that elevates the quality of ER medicine in the hospital
  • Work with the medical director to provide ER mentorship and/or guide ER Veterinarians to existing mentorship options within Thrive
  • Schedule case reviews and/or M&M round with ER Veterinarians
  • Assist with veterinary student extern rotation mentorship
  • Develop an ER internship program
  • Provide ER specific CE to our referring community
  • Work with the ER Staff Manager and ER Lead Technician to develop ER technicians
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) or equivalent degree required
  • State Veterinary Board License: active and in good standing for the state of intended employment; obtained prior to start date
  • Active DEA license or DEA licensure eligible
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in emergency medicine
