Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma – required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing – preferred.
• 5+ years applicable experience – required.
• Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support – preferred.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course -preferred.
• Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (or PALS) – required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (or ENPC) – required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program – preferred.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention – preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates unit with staff oversight to ensure high quality patient care.
• Operationalize evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and outcomes.
• Improve efficiency and reduce variation in clinical practice.
• Ensure compliance with policies, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain equipment and ensure regulatory accreditation standards.
• Manage admissions and discharges for throughput.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care and assign staff with appropriate competencies.
• Lead nursing practice and unit operations per policies.
• Provide leadership to attain superior patient experience and interactions.
• Review feedback to improve patient satisfaction and service.
• Coordinate with leaders to foster teamwork and service recovery.
• Lead in line with organizational mission and engage employees.
• Identify training needs and coach staff.
• Attract and retain talent; ensure right people in right roles.
• Handle employee grievances per procedures.
• Represent organization in community events.
