Job summary

Garmin Ltd. in the Greater Kansas City area seeks a Senior EMC Engineer to lead EMC certification and testing for complex products and systems.

You will guide project planning, coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams and mentor junior engineers to ensure compliant, high-quality results. Responsibilities include developing test plans, engaging with regulatory bodies, and driving risk mitigation while advancing Garmin’s GPS, Wi‑Fi, BLE and related platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree AND a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
• GPA >= 3.0 as general rule
• Experience with project management
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Detail/quality oriented, organized and proactive
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Lead certification and testing of complex products and systems with scheduling and tracking
• Plan, monitor and adjust EMC project plans to meet deadlines
• Review certification plans and test methods for improvements
• Represent Garmin with industry partners and regulatory agencies
• Mentor junior EMC engineers (EMC Engineer 1 & 2)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver GPS, HD traffic, Wi-Fi, BLE features
• Create and implement complex test plans for major programs
• Research regulatory standards for new technologies and regions
• Identify and communicate EMC/compliance risks and mitigations
• Partner with Compliance Engineering on solutions
