Job summary

Safran in California seeks a Senior Software Engineer for Manufacturing Test Development to architect, design, develop, test and integrate software for IFE hardware production and testing. You will build C++ test software used in hardware validation and factory acceptance, and collaborate across hardware, embedded software, and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in EE/CE/CS is required.
• 6+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in Linux embedded OS development.
• Strong programming in C++, C, Python, and bash/sh on Linux.
• Experience with SVN, Git, and Bitbucket.
• Low-level software expertise with 32- and 64-bit ARM SoCs.
• Understanding of electronics, PCB schematics, and test equipment control via GPIB/USB/Ethernet.
• Experience with I2C, PCIe, SPI, MDIO, CAN, or Ethernet.
• Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience documenting requirements and manufacturing tests.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and validate C++ test software for hardware validation and testing.
• Design, debug, and deploy automated test applications, stations, fixtures, and scripts.
• Support NPI builds, production testing, and manufacturing improvements by troubleshooting issues.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, design, manufacturing, and contract teams to enable testing.
• Review and validate product requirements; produce software, test procedures, and release docs.
• Participate in design and code reviews to improve quality and readiness.
• Provide development estimates and communicate status for assigned work.
• Contribute to DevOps and CI/CD improvements for test software development and release.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
