Job summary

Carrier Global Corporation seeks a Senior Systems Test Engineer to oversee embedded system testing for HVAC controls. You will own testing of new and legacy systems in labs, test cells, and field trials, developing tests and methodologies while collaborating with hardware, firmware, software, and manufacturing teams.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Firmware & Embedded Software, you’ll contribute to risk analyses and system verification efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent.
• 5+ years of systems engineering experience with embedded products.
• 5+ years of integrating and testing complex embedded control systems.
• 3+ years of experience using root cause analysis strategies.
• Able and willing to travel up to 10% per year (international and domestic).

Responsibilities

• Define integration tests for HVAC systems with embedded systems engineers.
• Serve as systems integration test engineer in product development processes.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, software, and manufacturing teams.
• Coordinate with field trial coordinators to manage trial sites.
• Contribute to decisions on tradeoffs in product testing between hardware and firmware/software.
• Capture requirements, write test specs, define test plans for SV&V.
• Perform testing in labs and test cells.
• Provide input to project planning (estimates, resources, timelines, costs, risks).
• Participate in DFMEAs for software and systems.
• Document systems and functional requirements.
• Help define testing approach for new products.
• Develop systems-level test cases/plans.
• Participate in risk reviews.
• Demonstrate teamwork in project settings.
