Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Senior Principal Embedded Systems Security Engineer for its Baltimore, MD team. The role requires hands-on leadership in sensor payload development and mission security solutions, with a focus on cybersecurity and DoD platforms.

The candidate will ensure compliance with government policies, support Security Test & Evaluation, and document security findings while coordinating with program teams and BD personnel to align international requirements with design

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience, Master’s degree with 6 years of experience or PhD with 4 years in STEM fields.
• U.S. Citizenship is required. A current/active DoD Secret Clearance. Ability to obtain SAP access.

Responsibilities

• Lead and provide hands-on experience in development of sensor payloads and complete mission security solutions for hardware and software security.
• Implement and ensure compliance with government policies (e.g., JSIG, DAAPM) by reviewing process tailoring needs and approving documented procedures.
• Support formal Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) processes through pre-test preparation, participation in testing, analysis, and reporting.
• Document findings from Assessment and Authorization activities and maintain Security Plans and POA&M updates.
• Oversee exportability analyses and ensure compliance with international standards.
• Collaborate with program teams and global Business Development to incorporate international requirements and drive product initiatives.
• Demonstrate full life cycle development experience including architecture, design, cyber requirements, testing, and verification.
• Engage in strategic planning for Cybersecurity technology development and participate in communities of practice.
