Job summary

Field AI is hiring an Embedded Systems Engineer to build compute platforms for humanoid robots. You will design compute hardware, implement firmware and BSPs, and work at the Linux kernel level to enable real‑time performance.

You will collaborate with ML, mechanical, electrical, and sensor teams to deliver tightly integrated, safety‑minded backpack compute solutions for field deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in a technical field; strong embedded systems experience.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python for embedded and application level development.
• Experience with Linux kernel, device drivers, and BSPs across platforms.
• Hands-on with real-time firmware, bare-metal/RTOS, and safety-conscious design.

Responsibilities

• Design and select embedded compute platforms (ARM/SoC) for humanoid payloads.
• Develop firmware, BSP bring‑up, and bootloaders for hardware.
• Do kernel‑level development to ensure real‑time performance and reliability.
• Test/diagnose with thermal/power/latency analyses; implement health checks.
