Job summary

Field AI is building risk-aware AI systems for humanoid robots, focusing on embedded compute platforms, sensor drivers, and ML integration. You will work across ARM/SoC compute, firmware bring-up, and Linux kernel enhancements to support real-time robotics applications.

You will collaborate with ML, mechanical, electrical, and software teams to deliver safe, field-ready solutions, from perception to actuation, with ROS/ROS2 and DDS interfaces for real-time data flow.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
• 3+ years hands-on embedded systems experience.
• Proficient in C++ and Python for embedded/app development.
• Experience with Linux kernel, device drivers, and BSPs across platforms.
• Familiarity with ROS/ROS2 and DDS middleware.

Responsibilities

• Design and select embedded compute platforms (ARM/SoC/microcontrollers) for humanoid payloads.
• Write and customize bare-metal and RTOS firmware and bootloaders.
• Develop kernel-level Linux support for real-time performance and reliability.
• Develop and integrate perception/motion drivers for cameras, LiDAR, IMUs and tactile sensors.
• Lead cross-team collaboration to generalize software across robot platforms.
