Job summary

GE HealthCare is seeking an accomplished Embedded Software Engineer to build life-critical software for anesthesia and ventilation devices. The role requires leading distributed RTOS and Embedded Linux projects, coordinating multi-processor interfaces, and collaborating with FPGA and hardware teams to ensure robust, scalable architectures.

You will mentor engineers, drive design decisions, and shape platform direction.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience in embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, integration, and verification of distributed embedded software.
• Define and review interfaces among processors, software subsystems, communications, hardware, and FPGA-based control.
• Collaborate with FPGA/hardware engineers on data flows, timing, diagnostics, and integration plans.
• Lead real-time, concurrent, platform bring-up, BSPs, drivers, and boot processes.
• Make architecture and integration decisions for FPGA-enabled systems.
• Mentor engineers and drive design reviews and issue resolution.
• Contribute to platform roadmaps, reusable software, testing, CI/CD, and tooling.
