Job summary

Intrepid Control Systems in Troy, MI seeks a Senior Embedded Development Engineer to design, implement, and validate advanced embedded systems for automotive data logging and high‑speed communication solutions. You will work across HW/SW interfaces, develop with C/C++, HDL, and Linux environments, and lead projects from concept through release.

The role requires 5+ years in embedded software/hardware, experience with Zynq MPSoC, HDL, and embedded Linux, and on‑site presence in Troy, Michigan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of embedded software design, development, and debugging using C/C++.
• 3+ years of experience with AMD/Xilinx Zynq MPSoC or Zynq-based systems.
• 5+ years of embedded software development, including 3+ years of embedded Linux build/debug experience.
• Experience with hardware-level debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
• Ability to work on-site in Troy, Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, debug, and maintain embedded software applications using C and C++.
• Design hardware solutions using HDL languages such as VHDL and Verilog.
• Develop solutions using Zynq MPSoC and associated tools (Vivado/Vitis).
• Participate in system architecture reviews and design reviews.
• Lead projects through concept to release with integration and testing.
• Troubleshoot and debug hardware and software interfaces.
• Use test equipment to diagnose issues and validate designs.
• Create and maintain technical docs and design specs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor engineers.
