Job summary

Sierra Space is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to design, architect, and develop complex embedded systems for space missions. You will lead a team of engineers, make high-level design decisions, and drive innovations across software development practices.

You will write multi-language code, debug critical issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability and performance of flight software and embedded Linux/Rtos environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and develop complex embedded software systems.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in multiple languages.
• Debug and troubleshoot critical software issues to ensure system performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet system requirements.
• Utilize Git for version control and collaboration.
• Document software architectures, designs, specifications, and development processes.
• Mentor and guide junior and intermediate engineers.
• Lead and implement Agile/Scrum/Kanban workflows.
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies and tools to improve processes and drive innovation.
• Provide leadership in design reviews and make high-level design decisions.
