Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software quality assurance experience.
  • 3–4 years of testing desktop tools and/or embedded systems/hardware.
  • Experience with electronic test equipment (power supplies, DMMs, oscilloscopes) and troubleshooting electrical/firmware issues.
  • Familiarity with QA in medical device or other regulated environments (e.g., Title 21 CFR part 11).
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills; able to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written communication of methods and observations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual system-level, functional, and acceptance testing on embedded systems software (C) and desktop software (C#/.NET).
  • Collaborate with R&D and Manufacturing to define and implement testing strategies.
  • Develop written verification test protocols and document results to meet requirements and standards.

You would design and execute tests in support of our Class II cardiac monitoring devices and their supporting software infrastructure. In this role, you will act as an advocate for the quality of our software, both from the perspective of our patients and our internal customers, working primarily with firmware written in C and with C#/.NET windows desktop applications.The position is located in Orange County, CA, and the role is hybrid, requiring you to be in the office as needed to use hardware and electrical lab equipment.What You Will Be DoingPerform manual system-level, functional, and acceptance testing on embedded systems software (C) and supporting desktop software applications (C#/.NET).Collaborate with members of R&D and Manufacturing, among other teams, to define and implement testing strategies.Develop written verification test protocols, then subsequently document and report test results to both functional and customer requirements - in a manner consistent with regulatory and internal standards.Review requirements and design documentation to ensure technical accuracy as well as testability; act as a quality advocate throughout the development process.Analyze and test field failures to establish repeatability before working with the development team to address the root cause, and verify the correction before release.What We Want to SeeAt least 5 years of software quality assurance experience.At least 3-4 years of experience in testing desktop tools and/or embedded systems/hardware.Experience with electronic test equipment (power supplies, DMMs, oscilloscopes, etc) and ability to troubleshoot electrical and firmware issues on circuits/hardware.Very good understanding of QA principles and processes.Particularly a familiarity with the software QA process in the medical device industry or other regulated environment (e.g., FAA, SEC, DoD, Title 21 CFR part 11), and the related verification, validation, and documentation requirements.Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, finding creative solutions as well as enjoying investigative and troubleshooting processes.Self-motivated with ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in cross-functional teams, potentially leading testing efforts for a given project.Effective written communication skills in presentation of methods and observations.Ways to Stand OutProficiency in Linux/Unix environment.Work experience in a firmware or software development role.Programming experience in one or more of the following languages: Python, C/C++, .NET/C#, MYSQLUnderstanding of Test-Driven Development and related use of unit testing approaches and tools (e.g., JUnit).Location:Orange CountyActual compensation may vary depending on job-related factors including knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.Estimated Pay Range$115,000.00 - $149,000.00As a part of our core values, we ensure an inclusive workforce.
