Job summary

Amazon LEO is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to design and deliver embedded flight software for optical inter-satellite links. You will transform requirements into robust, scalable architectures for satellites in orbit.

You will lead cross-functional teams, implement fault-tolerant systems, and enable safe, automated deployments and updates across a constellation. Eligible candidates must meet security and export controls requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming in at least one language.
• 5+ years of design or architecture (patterns, reliability, scalability).
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
• 5+ years of experience with the Linux networking stack and/or embedded Linux/RTOS.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize flight software for optical inter-satellite link systems.
• Architect fault-tolerant software ensuring links stay alive across satellites.
• Build and maintain test, validation, and simulation infrastructure.
