Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer focused on system software development for embedded devices and communication systems in Salt Lake City. The role spans the full software development life cycle across Linux, Windows, and embedded real-time operating systems, requiring strong object-oriented skills and sound engineering judgment.

The ideal candidate has experience with multi-threaded programming, and the ability to contribute to complex programs across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
• Experience with object-oriented software development using C++ is preferred.
• Embedded real-time software development in Linux or VxWorks environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop software for embedded devices and systems from requirements through production and support.
• Work with cross-functional teams to develop performance requirements and interface software/hardware components.
• Support all phases of the software development life cycle including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration and testing.
• Contribute to software test plans and documentation.
• Participate in peer reviews and defect repair.
• Collaborate with systems, test, and program leadership.
